Skullz - BM 225

Dear Readers,

I am really excited because I finally got the new Bundle Monster plates, and they are the first BM plates I've ever had.  I only have tried one plate so far, but I am impressed with the quality.  I am also glad they fit in my Konad IP holder.  I am sure you'll be seeing many future posts featuring the designs from these plates!

Here is China Glaze "Purple Panic (neon)" which is a gorgeous colour!  I used two coats, and it looks more like a hot hot pink than a purple to me.  I am sure I will use this colour a lot - it's right up my alley! It does dry matte, but after a coat of Seche Vite QD topcoat, it has an amazing shimmer!

I added the skull and crossbones design from BM 225 in Konad Special Polish (black).

Then, to add some depth, I stamped the same design again, a bit off, using China Glaze "Millenium".  I scraped a bit of the silver off to give it an aged, rough look.

I think this is a really cool design.  It was one I was really looking forward to using!

With an orange background, it would be great for Halloween! :-)

Pink Piano - m73 Konad

Hello dear readers,

Here is the konadicure I did this week.  I wore it to a party with a black and white dress and hot pink lipstick!

I used Sally Hansen "Cerise" and "Black Out" with Konad Special White for the stamping.  The design comes from IP M73.  I used just the bottom part of the design to make a keyboard as the tip design, and then I used the entire design on my ring finger.

Here it is in slightly different lighting.  My dear hubby bought me an amazing new macro lens, so I've had a lot of fun experimenting with close-ups!

Party Time

This is the konadicure I made to wear to some family parties we attended this weekend. I wanted something that would go with a grey dress in the daytime and a fancy black dress for the evening.  This is what I ended up creating.

Here it is with different camera settings.  I'm holding a silver clutch my mom let me borrow.  I used China Glaze "Millenium" for the stamping. It is so awesome for that purpose! I used Revlon Top Speed in "Fire".  The black tips are "Black Out" by Sally Hansen.''

Black & Gold Konadi

Here's my latest konadicure. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black as the base and China Glaze 2030 for the stamping.

 The pocket watch was a beautiful gift that my husband's grandmother gave to me...I thought it looked perfect with this konadicure!

Vacation Mani/Pedi

Sorry it's been soooo long since I posted. We took the kids to Orlando to see all of the Disney Parks, Water Parks and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. That was such an incredible vacation - my first time there too! Anyhow, here is the mani/pedi I wore. It got lots of attention, and I really loved it, but I only took pics after wearing it for over a week, so pardon some chips and tip wear!

This design was inspired by many of my fellow bloggers who have been doing similar konadicures.  I layered a few polishes to get a gradation from lime green to bright blue. Then I used the popular leopard print plate in Konad Special Black to get the pattern on top. I just can't believe I'm still flexible enough to manage to do that on my toes too! Ha ha ha....

Hot Pink & Black Lace

Here's a konadicure I did to wear to a party.  I thought this would look great with a LBD, and I wore hot pink lipstick to match!

I used a lace pattern from m57 and to create the accent nail, I reversed the direction of the pattern and then flipped it over and doubled it to make a double-thick lace design.


For the base I used a Sally Hansen polish from one of their cheap lines that I just picked up in "Cerise".  I stamped it using Konad Special black, and used my typical Orly Bonder b.c. and Seche Vite t.c.

I love this kind of hot pink especially in the summer.  I had my hair dyed red for a few weeks, but it looked terrible with hot pink polish or lipstick, so I just dyed it black so that I could wear this colour makeup and polish again!

This is a konadicure I did when I first started learning how to use the system last spring. I have seen several variations on this theme on many different blogs.  Here I used Color Club's "Lazer Pink" which is a bit more neon in real life.  Then I painted a white tip - freehand.  I stamped the checkerboard pattern from m56 over the tip and finished it off with a line of silver striper polish.  


Why am I holding this brush?  Perhaps I intend to use it to hail a cab? Bad joke - okay, I know, I know.

Sorry for the silly title, but when I was trying to think of what to call this konadicure, that kids' joke, "What's black and white and red (read) all over?" popped into my head. (The newspaper is the answer, in case you never heard that one.)

For this Konadicure, I wanted to feature mostly red nails with a bit of black and red. I used an old Avon colour which I found in still perfect condition. The colour was so even and opaque that I only needed one coat of "Persian Red" to get full coverage. Then I free-handed the black tip going on a diagonal, with the thicker part closer to the thumb. When that dried, I stamped the waffle-like grid pattern over the black tips. To do that I used Konad Special Polish in White on part of one of the full nail designs from IP m74.

Next, I added a few flowers from m57. On the white flowers, I added a dot of "Black Onyx". To make the black flower, I used Konad Special Polish in black, and then I added a dot of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in "White On". On the opposite hand I did the single large flower on the ring finger and the two smaller flowers on the thumb.

Can't choose one pic - I love how these shots turned out!

For this konadicure I chose a smooth silvery base colour - "Easel Come, Easel Go" - and I love its name almost as much as the bright shiny metallic effect it creates. The stars are randomly placed with some going off the edge or corner of the nail. I like this scattered look, but the pinky got a bit too crowded.

I try to find something to hold to make the photos for each konadicure something unique. I found these retro looking headphones and thought the silver/black and textured detail would add some interest to the pics.

Sally Hansen "Encore" - subtle glitter on top

Another pink post. I just love the detail in this Konad image, so I was really excited to use this design. I decided that black on white was a bit predictable, so I chose a pale pink for the background, to keep the contrast but soften the finished look a bit.

Finger Paints is a brand I just recently started using, and I really like the consistency and opacity of their polishes. I get them at my local Sally's.

It was a bit tricky getting this pattern to be crisp and lined up just so, but it was worth it, I think. When the design has very fine lines or dots like this one does, I sometimes add a few drops of thinner to the Special Polish to make sure every detail gets picked up onto the stamper.

I added a bit of subtle glitter with this Sally Hansen Hard As Nails polish I picked up when there was a $0.99 sale at my local drugstore awhile back. "Encore" has a very sheer peach tone with fine green and gold glitter in it.

I'll admit it; I couldn't wait to go to work and show this konadicure to the music teacher at my school. It tickled her pink - sorry, but I couldn't resist the bad pun. She honestly tried to hum the tune from the musical staff...how cute is that?!

Black Lace & Rhinestones

I decided to try this out after seeing a lot of "model hand" and nude polish looks online. Of course, I couldn't stop after painting my nails with a nude taupe colour I "frankenpolished". It looked pretty nice, but I tend to always want to add more. So I added the lace floral pattern. That was probably the time to stop, but then I went for the glitter - thus the name of my blog - glitterM. I added some rhinestones that I bought at the dollar store. One is black, one clear and one pearl. Slapped on a thick coat of Seche Vite and away we go!
